What if everyone was perfect

You need a 7 Day BrainwashI love to turn things on their heads to see what happens. You know how it is when people say, “Well nobody’s perfect”?

Let’s turn that around. What if everybody’s perfect?

I mean, who’s judging the imperfect ones? By what standard? Their own? God’s? Who would know what God, (if She exists) really thinks anyway? Plenty of pretty strong views around the planet, but as many conflict with each other, the best we can say for certain is well, nobody actually does know for certain.

So suppose for just a moment that everybody’s perfect. Then, (you’d say), there’d be no crime, no drunk drivers, no lying or cheating. But what if perfect people sometimes do things that compromise even their own integrity, or which cause pain to others? What if it’s true that as “A Course in Miracles” says, “Every human deed is either an act of love or a cry for help?” Perfect people trying to remember their perfection by acting from love or crying for help.

It doesn’t make it all right to hurt others, physically or emotionally. But perhaps it makes it easier to forgive them.

And you know what else it does? It means you’ll have to face yourself with the startling truth that YOU are perfect after all. And all you’ve ever done is act from love or cry for help.

Think about that.
